Finding Stillness

I’m excited to share that one of my paintings has been selected for the Carrollwood Cultural Center’s latest exhibition, Pathways, Portals, and Journeys, opening to the public today, May 16, 2025. The show will run through August 30, and I couldn’t be more honored to be exhibiting alongside so many inspiring Florida artists.

The theme of this exhibition speaks to me on a deeply personal level. Pathways, Portals, and Journeys explores the concept of movement and transformation—literal or symbolic. It invites artists to consider those liminal spaces we pass through, the choices that shape us, and the places we pause along the way.
My piece, At Ease, is an intimate 8x10" oil painting of a coffee mug resting quietly on a windowsill. At first glance, it might seem like a simple domestic moment. But to me, it represents a vital and often overlooked part of any journey: the pause. The moment of exhale. That reflective space where the world softens and we reconnect with ourselves before taking the next step forward.
In my own creative journey—self-taught, exploratory, and full of both detours and discoveries—I’ve come to deeply value those still, quiet moments. They’re not breaks from the path; they are the path. They’re portals into clarity, insight, and often the next creative idea.
If you’re in the Tampa area, I’d love for you to experience the exhibition in person. This exhibit is on display until August 30th, 2025. Whether you’re contemplating your own transitions or just looking for an inspiring collection of work, this show offers a rich and diverse visual conversation about where we’ve been and where we’re going.
